How often do you say “no” to things that would interfere with your goals?
Well, as much as I’d love to say “always,” the truth is, mastering the art of “NO” is a constant work in progress!
Let me give you an example.
Just the other day, a friend invited me to a last-minute movie marathon. Now, don’t get me wrong, I love a good movie night. But lately, I’ve been focusing on getting enough sleep to improve my focus and productivity – a key goal for me as a blogger.
So, even though the FOMO (fear of missing out) was real, I politely declined. Instead, I used the evening to catch up on some writing and unwind with a relaxing bath – all things that contribute to reaching my goals.
Sure, there might be times when saying “yes” is important, like supporting a close friend going through a tough time. But by being mindful of what truly aligns with my goals, I can say “no” more confidently when needed.
This is one of my current hobbies… recognizing irritants and digesting they don’t matter or what to do if they do.
