What book could you read over and over again?

As a bookworm, there are so many contenders but if I had to choose just one for my personal rereading , it would have to be “The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue” by V.E. Schwab .
Here’s why it’s such a treasure:
- A Deal With a Devil (That Goes Wrong): The story centers around Addie LaRue, a woman who bargains for immortality in 17th century France. The catch? No one will remember her. It’s a fascinating twist on the classic Faustian bargain, exploring themes of loneliness, identity and the fleeting beauty of human connection.
- A Journey Through Time: We follow Addie across centuries, experiencing history through her ever-changing eyes. From the glittering decadence of Marie Antoinette’s court to the smoky jazz clubs of the 1920s , Schwab paints a vivid picture of each era.
- A Love Letter to Art and Storytelling: Addie’s only solace is in self-expression. She becomes a muse for countless artists and writers, leaving her mark on the world without anyone knowing it’s her. It’s a beautiful testament to the power of art and the stories that bind us together.
- A Bittersweet experience: The novel is a poignant exploration of the human condition. Addie experiences moments of joy and connection but the weight of her immortality hangs heavy. It’s a story that stays with you long after you turn the last page, making you ponder the value of a life lived and the connections we make along the way.
Note:
It’s not your typical reread. It’s a story that unfolds and reveals itself in new ways with each journey. It’s like revisiting a dear friend who always has a new story to tell.
So, if you’re looking for a unique and thought-provoking read that will stay with you long after the final chapter, “The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue” might just become your next rereading obsession.
