The Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) has implemented significant changes to the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Combined Competitive Examination (APPSCCE) syllabus.
Key Updates:
Preliminary Examination (Part A):
Paper-I: Paper I-General
Studies with the existing entries, the following entry shall be
added:-
“History of North-East and basic understanding of Land and
people of Arunachal Pradesh including Economy and Heritage.”
Main Examination (Part B):
Paper-I: Paper I- Essay, for the
existing entries, the following shall be substituted:-
i. Part I (125 marks)– Essay on issues related to national
and international level events and abstract topics. One
essay from three to four topics.
ii. Part II (125 marks)- Essay on issues related to Arunachal Pradesh to include social, cultural, developmental and current burning topics. One essay from three to four
topics.
Essay has been restructured to include a dedicated focus on Arunachal Pradesh. Candidates will be required to write essays on social, cultural, developmental, and current issues specific to the state. This, alongside national and international topics, ensures a well-rounded evaluation of candidates’ understanding of Arunachal Pradesh.
Paper-II: General Studies-I has been expanded to encompass a comprehensive section on Arunachal Pradesh. This section delves into:
- The state’s topography, river systems, and transportation networks.
- Natural hazards of the North-East region.
- Arunachal Pradesh’s rich tapestry, including its land, people, history, culture, and traditional village institutions, such as the Chieftainship System.
- The state’s abundant natural resources, including mines, minerals, water resources, forests, and wildlife.
- The unique location, physiography, climate, and biodiversity of Arunachal Pradesh.
- The state’s trade, commerce, and economic landscape.
- Social and developmental challenges specific to Arunachal Pradesh.
- The significance of the McMohan Line and its historical context.
- The administrative evolution of Arunachal Pradesh, including key regulations like the Bengal Eastern Frontier Regulation, 1873 (Inner Line Permit), Assam Frontier (Administration of Justice) Regulation, 1945, The North East Frontier (Tracts) Administration Regulation, 1954, The North East Frontier Agency (Administration) Regulation, 1965, the Daying Ering Committee Report, 1965, NEFA Panchayati Raj Regulation, 1967, and the APPR Act,1997.
