Describe the most ambitious DIY project you’ve ever taken on.

Transitioning to cooking and eating healthier food has been way more challenging than I originally thought! I’ll admit, making the meals as tasty as I want them to be, especially as someone who comes from a culture where meat is a huge part of our diet, has been quite the feat. Our ancestors were hunters and gatherers, so you can imagine how deeply ingrained our love for meat is.
And let’s not even get started on my attempts at growing a kitchen garden—talk about a learning curve! I used to think all you had to do was throw some seeds in the soil and watch the magic happen. But my first try didn’t quite go as planned. I’ve learned the hard way that gardening isn’t as simple as it seems. Did you know that papaya plants have separate male and female versions, and only the females make fruit? I sure didn’t! It’s been a true adventure, filled with plenty of trial and error but I wouldn’t trade the valuable knowledge I’ve gained for anything.
