No one can predict the future. It’s intriguing in that there isn’t much you can do to foreclose. But the patterns of the past have always been a gridline to draw interpretations on – a theoretical conclusion.
I always say (think out loud) that we live in a transformational generation. So much is happening! The apprehension of collateral damage from ego-warfare, de-democratization, age of misinformation, real life, get-rich-quick schemes, Ponzi scams, playing catch-up with trends, etcetera, etcetera… Wait! The list goes on and on.
There is more money on earth than ever, so is inflation peaking. We built skyscrapers that graze the skies, yet seek for ‘grounding’. Now everybody is an aspirant but underestimates our duty to service. I don’t even want to talk about politicians; seems all politicians do is talk. We are promoting hatred more than ever; love is rarer than francium (the rarest metal on earth). We are more surprised by basic human virtues because we are expected to walk on water. We trade our precious time to earn money while our life, only to realize the money can’t even buy half our time back…
But yet, I DON’T BLAME YOU.
War makes peace. The nature exists as a dichotomy – the yin and the yan. One generation of struggle give birth to another generation of hardworking endeavors. A fallow land is the most suitable for passionate fruit. What I mean to say is hard times are indeed blessings in disguise.
Then again we have blurred our visions. Because yesterday’s crisis was poverty, lack of education, healthcare, owing a supercar. But it’s the rude awakening of supply-and-demand. Life has its petty tricks. Your deprivation has created a sense of purpose (call it consumerism) designed to quench your thirst.
But tomorrow will be another day, another generation. What little we named “sustainability” will be labelled the great depression. We are poor if all we have left to pass on is mere riches. Tomorrow, rich will be synonymous with somebody who can afford a smile, a small house but a happy home. Your kid that grew up in EV cars will crave for a walk and wonder why we don’t walk anymore because the planet has noxious gases we left behind as inheritance.
Do you still think we are saving up enough? Can we ever…again?
