For me, collecting unique words is my thing…!!!
It all started when I discovered my love for reading and writing. I realized that there are so many beautiful and interesting words out there that I had never heard before. That’s when I decided to start my own little language collection.
Whenever I come across a new word that I am not familiar with, I quickly jot it down in my notebook. Some of these words are ordinary and some are exotic. Yet, each word is just like a treasure hunt – there are always deeper meanings and linguistic insights to be uncovered.
For example, the word “apricity” means the warmth of the sun on a cold day. It’s just one of many words that has a beautiful, unique definition and sounds wonderful when spoken. Isn’t it??
One of my favorite words is “petrichor” – it’s that earthy, mossy smell after a rainstorm. I love rain and this word is close to my heart.
Another great word is “tsundoku” – it refers to a pile of unread books, which I’m sure many of us can relate to!
Collecting words is not just a hobby for me – it’s an adventure. It has not only expanded my vocabulary, but it’s also led me to learn about new cultures and ideas. When I come across a word from a different language, it sparks my curiosity and often leads me down a rabbit hole… of learning more about the culture it comes from. Also, it has helped me to become more expressive and articulate. And that’s why I love writing poems… It helps me express stuffs I can’t express you see.
