What’s the oldest things you’re wearing today?
As I look down at what I’m wearing today, I can’t help but marvel at the history woven into every thread….
The oldest item I have on is a hand-me-down sweater from my great-grandmother. It’s made of wool, with a beautiful cable knit pattern that she made herself. It’s at least 80 years old, and every stitch tells a story. It’s been passed down through my family and worn by all my siblings and even my dad wore it .. It feels like a warm hug from granny every time I put it on…. I miss her…
As I wear it, I feel connected to her and to the generations that have come before me. It’s a reminder that fashion doesn’t have to be disposable – sometimes the most meaningful pieces are the ones that have stood the test of time.
